Liverpool predicted line-up to face Red Bull Salzburg in Champions League clash

Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold are set to come back into the starting line-up as Liverpool face Red Bull Salzburg looking to secure qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League.

And Dejan Lovren has been passed fit to start alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Reds’ defence after an injury scare during Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

Liverpool go into their final Champions League group game in Austria on Tuesday night top of Group E, but still needing a point to ensure they’re in the draw for the last 16. A win will guarantee top spot.

Salzburg – whose attack will be led by record-breaking goalscorer Erling Braut Haaland – are three points behind Liverpool. They need to win and hope Napoli lose to Belgian side Genk in order to make the last 16.

With Liverpool enjoying a comfortable eight-point cushion at the top of the Premier League, manager Jurgen Klopp was able to rest players for Saturday’s 3-0 win away to Bournemouth.

Mane was an unused substitute, while Trent Alexander-Arnold started on the bench but was brought on for Lovren five minutes before half-time after the centre-back pulled up.

The substitution raised fears of a defensive injury crisis, with centre-back Joel Matip and versatile midfielder Fabinho currently sidelined.

But Klopp has confirmed Lovren was suffering from cramp and will be fit to play against Salzburg.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to keep his place in the team, with Georginio Wijnaldum returning to the side and Naby Keita and James Milner dropping to the bench.
