Liverpool player ratings vs Sheffield United: Fabinho reckless but Jota good

Liverpool came from behind to seal a crucial Premier League win over Sheffield United. It ends a two-game league run without a win for Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds went behind after Fabinho’s foul on McBurnie was reviewed as taking place in the box. Sander Berge made no mistake from the spot.

Roberto Firmino, though, levelled the scores just before half-time. The Brazilian was recently called out by Peter Crouch over his lack of goals and it was a fine way to respond.

New signing Diogo Jota wrapped up the win for Liverpool with a fine header. The Portuguese lept well to nod Sadio Mane’s cross home.

Liverpool player ratings below

Alisson – 6

A welcome return to goal for the Brazilian and made some good saves to go with it. Even his sheer presence is reassuring to the Liverpool defence.

Alexander-Arnold – 6

Fine at the back and was determined to get forward as always. Just lacked that killer instinct with his final ball on this occasion.

Fabinho – 4

Dived in recklessly and showed he’s still got some work to do if he wants fill Virgil van Dijk’s boots. Outpaced by Burke in the second half.

Gomez – 6

Calm and steady where Fabinho was sometimes not. His pace is key alongside the Brazilian.
