ADAM LALLANA is eyeing a move back to Southampton to reignite his career, according to reports.
The England midfielder fears he has no future at Liverpool after injury limited him to just five Premier League starts this season.
He only made one league start in the previous campaign and hasn’t found the net since a 3-0 win against Middlesbrough nearly two years ago.
Now 31, Lallana wants to be playing regular first-team football and believes he will struggle to get that under boss Jurgen Klopp.
According to the Express, he is considering a move back to Southampton where he came through the ranks.
Lallana joined the Saints when he was 12 years old and became a fans favourite as he rose through the youth team before his eventual switch to the Reds in 2014.
He still has one more year left on his current deal at Liverpool and Klopp could be tempted to cash in depending on their summer transfer plans.
They also have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returning to first-team action after he missed the majority of the campaign through injury.
Southampton will have cash to spend this summer following their Premier League survival.
But they don’t want to fork out a fortune for Lallana considering his injury record in recent seasons.
He will also be forced to take a pay cut if he is to return to the South coast.
