Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara laughed off the speculation over his future following Spain’s draw against Germany.

The 29-year-old was in action as Luis Enrique’s side fought back from a goal down to earn a late point against Joachim Low’s men.

Thiago is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer after informing the Bundesliga club that he will not sign a contract extension to his current deal, which expires next summer.

Liverpool had been leading the race to sign the former Barcelona midfielder and Thiago has held talks with Jurgen Klopp over a move to Anfield.

However, the Reds’ reluctance to meet Bayern’s £27m asking price has opened the door to Manchester United, who are keen on signing Thiago seven years after he last came close to a move to Old Trafford.

Speaking after Spain’s draw, Thiago said he was focusing on the next game against Ukraine and that Munich was his ‘home’.

‘I only think about the game against Ukraine. Afterwards, we will see,’ said Thiago.

‘Bayern is my home and I am happy to be there.’

Thiago was then directly asked if he had decided between Liverpool and Manchester United but he responded by smiling, before saying ‘ciao’ and walking away.

Despite his warm words about life in Germany, Thiago expects to leave the Allianz Arena this summer and it’s likely there will be movement on his future after Spain’s game against Ukraine on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp has been told he must sell before he can buy again this summer and Gini Wijnaldum’s departure to Barcelona could allow the German his wish to sign Thiago.

Klopp wants to keep Wijnaldum but the Dutchman is yet to sign an extension to his contract, which expires next summer.

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman is keen on signing the 29-year-old and he would fetch a similar fee to the £27m fee that Bayern are seeking for Thiago.
