Liverpool fans HATE Man Utd embarrassment at Everton: Man City prediction made

The Toffees dominated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Goodison Park.

And Liverpool know they need Manchester City to drop points if they are to be crowned Premier League champions this season.

Pep Guardiola’s side take on United on Wednesday – thought to be the best chance for the Reds to see their rivals fail to win.

But after Everton’s performance, Liverpool fans are not confident Solskjaer’s side can cause an upset.

One tweeted: “And @LFC fans including me were hoping that @ManUtd will deal with @ManCity next week, never gonna happen.”

Another added: “Feels all sorts of wrong to be disappointed at a Manchester United hammering but speaking for Liverpool fans we were hoping they might do us a favour and cause Man City to drop points.

“Based on that performance… seems unlikely. Solskjaer effect well and truly dead now.”

“When you’re relying on this Man Utd team to beat Man City in three days,” a third explained using a miserable image of Jurgen Klopp to illustrate the point.

A fourth said: “It’s been a fantastic season so far for @LFC.

“The only downside is that we’ve come up against a team as good as @ManCity in the chase for the title, and we’re relying on a poor @ManUtd team to get a result against them if we want to win the league!”

After the match United boss Solskjaer apologised to fans.

He said: “From the first whistle everything went wrong. I just want to apologise to the fans.

“They’re the only people with the badge on today who can hold their head high, because we can’t.

“Everton were better than us at all the basics. There are so many things that we need to do better to get a result. Talent has never been enough.

“We just didn’t perform. That was not worthy of a Manchester United team. We hold our hands up and apologise to everyone associated with the club.

“We have a perfect chance to make amends on Wednesday [against Manchester City].”
