Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay is ready to quit Lyon this summer amid interest from several Premier League clubs.

The Netherlands international moved to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015 but failed to fulfil his potential and struggled to win the confidence of Louis van Gaal and his successor Jose Mourinho.

Depay was reluctantly sold by Mourinho just over two years ago and the 25-year-old has gradually rebuilt his reputation in France, scoring 30 goals in 80 Ligue 1 appearances.

According to L’Équipe, Depay believes he has now outgrown Lyon and wants another opportunity to impress at one of Europe’s heavyweight clubs.

United inserted a buy-back clause in Depay’s contract but it is unlikely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will explore that potential option this summer with his transfer priorities lying in defence and central midfield.

L’Équipe claims that Liverpool are carefully monitoring Depay’s situation, especially in light of Real Madrid’s interest in Sadio Mane.

The Senegal international has emerged as a key transfer target for Zinedine Zidane who was recently reappointed at the Bernabeu.

Mane has scored 20 times in all competitions this season, rivalling Mohamed Salah as Liverpool’s most prolific forwards.

Reports earlier this month claimed Mane was not viewed solely as a potential alternative to Eden Hazard, the Chelsea forward who is said to be a matter of days away from finalising an agreement with the Spanish giants.
