Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has 'entirely' transformed two ‘totally average’ Reds stars

Former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has praised Jurgen Klopp for his management of James Milner and Jordan Henderson.

Jurgen Klopp joined Liverpool in 2015 and turned them into European champions in just four seasons.

The 52-year-old has now been backed as turning around the careers of two players in particular, who have both played key roles in the past few seasons.

“If you look at Jordan Henderson or James Milner before Klopp they were totally average,” Rangnick told the Frankfurter Allgemein.

“The fact that they have now become such players is entirely up to their manager.

“Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were, until three or four years ago, everything other than typical pressing strikers.

“They just wanted to have the ball and play with it.

“The fact that they have grown together at Liverpool is all down to Jurgen Klopp.”

Rangnick mentioned Mane as another player that has had his game improved by Klopp, with his Senegal team-mate Ismaila Sarr naming him as the best player in the world.

“[Mane is] one of the best men in Africa and in the world,” Sarr told Watford’s YouTube channel.

“I can say that for me, he is the best player in the world.

“Because he is quality. He has won the Champions League.

“He has done everything for Liverpool and in all competitions, unfortunately not the Premier League but I hope he does at some point because for me, he’s the best African player in Europe.

“He plays well, he does everything well both in football and life. He also does things right with us, he’s our national team leader

“He’s a guy who does things right, even outside of football.

“He does what is right for him and for everybody. Because he is a nice guy and does what is right.”
