Liv Tyler bedridden for 10 days with Covid after testing positive on NYE

Liv Tyler has revealed she was bed bound for 10 days after being struck down with coronavirus at the start of the year.

The 43-year-old actress had cautiously worked though 2020 desperately trying to avoid being infected by the deadly Covid-19 virus.

Reports in September last year revealed she had dropped out of starring in her show, 911: Lone Star, over concerns about the virus.

However, she was unfortunately “floored” by the virus when she tested positive on the cusp of entering 2021.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Liv shared a photograph of herself gleefully holding her two children after making it through isolation at home after testing positive with the virus.

Liv Tyler has shared her personal Covid ordeal

Recounting her experience, Liv wrote alongside the image: “Reunited with my loves… what a wild 2 weeks.

“I’m such a private and shy person and usually don’t share such things but this is a big one and i feel we all need to share our stories, to share information, to gather facts and awareness and mostly to know we are not alone in this.

“I tested positive for covid 19 on New Year’s Eve day. S**t I had made it all the way through 2020 keeping myself and my family safe. Doing everything i could to protect my wolf pack and follow the rules to protect others.

“Suddenly on The morn of the last day of 2020… boom it took me down. It comes on fast, like a locomotive. Owchie. With it Feelings of fear , shame and guilt swirling through you , who could you have gotten it from and who could you have infected…Terrifying.”

Liv explained how her children helped her through the isolation process

She continued: “Luckily the rest of my family and bubble were negative. There are so many strange elements to this sickness. It effects everyone so completely differently. I was so lucky and had corona light as my momma @realbebebuell called it, but It floored me for 10 days in my bed.

“There is the physical aspects but also emotional and psychological ones too. It F’s with your body and mind equally. Everyday different. Being isolated in a room alone for 10 days is trippy to say the least.”

The Lord of the Rings star goes on to say her ‘trippy’ mind left her questioning if recent political unrest in Washington was real, or a figment of her imagination.

However, she also shared adorable details of how her young family helped her get through her isolation.

She wrote: “I missed My babies beyond but they visited my window and called up to me and I watch them play outside. Such a gift.

Liv and fiance David Gardner have two children together

“They sent little messages and drawings under my door. Reminders of what’s on the other side. What to get better for.”

Liv and her British fiance, David Gardner, have a five-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter together – while the actress has a 16-year-old son from her previous marriage to musician Royston Langdon.

The star added she was “sending love and imaginary universal hugs to all” after making it through her ordeal.
