Little Mix cancel upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour to focus on recording new music

LITTLE Mix have cancelled their upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour.

The band apologised to fans down under before cancelling the tour dates so they could focus on recording new music.

They said in a statement: “We are really sad to announce that we have to cancel our upcomimg Australian and New Zealand tour dates.

“We are so sorry for disappointing our fans who were coming to the shows. This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly but we have to use this time to focus on recording new music.

“Please contact your point of purchase for a full refund on tickets.”

It comes after the band was forced to cancel a huge gig hours before the show after a production truck crashed and smashed the set in September.

Posting on their official social media pages, the girls wrote in a message ahead of their gig in Austrian capital Vienna last month: “Vienna, we are so sad to say that tonight’s show has had to be cancelled.

“Unfortunately one of our production trucks was in an accident earlier today which means we haven’t been able to set up our staging and lights.

“Thankfully no one was hurt, but it means we aren’t able to put on the show for you.

“We are absolutely broken hearted as we were so excited to see you all.

“All tickets are refunded, please contact your point of sale. The girls x.”

The band – which consists of Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Ann Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall – onlyembarked on the LM5 tour on Monday, performing in Spanish capital Madrid.

Vienna was to be the second date of the tour, which will also see them take in the likes of Germany, Belgium and France before heading back to the UK.

The girls will perform around the country throughout October and November before embarking on the Australia and New Zealand leg of their tour in December.

During their Madrid gig on Monday, the girls hit back at Piers Morgan and accused him of telling “porkie pies” after he claimed they owed him money for using a Good Morning Britain clip on their world tour.

The video – played during a concert in Madrid – shows Piers demanding an apology from Little Mix back in November.

Piers, 54, wrote to his 6.8million followers: “Ignore me? They’ve literally made me centre stage at their concerts… without my permission, incidentally, so they’ll be getting a large invoice.”

However, the band quote tweeted a reply: “Someone’s telling porkie pieeees. your bosses at GMB signed it off, including you… soz hun. Piers you gorgey hun, we know you’ve always been our number 1 fan.

we’ve got a ticket at the box office with your name on it #comeandsayittomyface”.

Piers’ response comes after the band showed footage on stage of Piers demanding an apology from Little Mix after their body shaming row in November last year.

In it, Piers says: “Little Mix I think you need to make a public apology. If  you’ve got the balls, come on this programme and say it to my face.”

They then remix the last word “face” before opening their song Wasabi with: “Come and say it to my face.”
