In 2014, she appeared in American thriller Gone Girl, taking on the role of Marybeth Elliott, mother of Amy Elliott, played by lead actress Rosamund Pike.
Her TV appearances included shows such as Nashville, Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife and Desperate Housewives to name but a few.
She also won a Theatre World Award in 1981, after treading the boards as Alison Porterin Look Back in Anger.
