Vicky McClure admits she has been told she won’t make it in Hollywood – despite her TV success here.
The Line of Duty star revealed she was informed she was not the right “category” to make it over the pond.
“I’m not going to do a pilot season in America. I’ve stood in too many queues,” the 35-year-old actress said of the way many Brits begin their careers in the US.
Vicky said she has auditioned for “every series” of BBC drama Peaky Blinders but has never landed a role – and missed out on the 2015 film Suffragette.

She told Red Magazine: “When Suffragette came up I thought it could be a game-changer for me, but it wasn’t to be. Although work is regular, it doesn’t always go my way.”
Vicky, who will reprise her role as DS Kate Fleming in the forthcoming Line of Duty, revealed the episodes will shock.
The Jed Mercurio police drama also features Martin Compston, Adrian Dunbar and newcomer Stephen Graham.

Vicky, who is the April cover star, said while she would love to work with “Adie (Dunbar), Martin (Compston) and Jed (Mercurio) for my entirety, everything has a shelf life, which won’t be determined by me. I always wonder, ‘Is this the season I die?’.”
