STEVE Arnott and John Corbett will have another huge showdown in an upcoming episode of Line of Duty.
A preview shows the pair – played by Martin Compston and Stephen Graham respectively – will come to blows on Sunday’s instalment.
John is seen wagging his finger at Steve in what will surely be yet another gripping scene in the hit BBC show.
Series six has already been ordered and Jed needs to know whether he has to tie up all the loose ends.
He said: “We’re looking forward to a conversation with the BBC once series five has aired .
“It’s about whether there is an appetite from fans to have more, or whether there’s a feeling the show is coming towards its natural arc.
“That conversation will be very specific, which is whether series six will be the last, or whether the BBC would be prepared to commission a seventh so we can approach series six knowing it’s not the last.”
Last Sunday’s gripping episode saw DI Kate Fleming and DS Steve Arnott closing in on the criminal gang, while Supt Ted Hastings was furious that Steve had made contact with gang leader John Corbett.
The series opener had a whopping 8million fans tuning in. In contrast ITV’s rival Victoria managed just 2.7million.
