Line of Duty season 5: 'FRAMED' Fans rally behind Hastings after unbelievable twist

Line of Duty fans finished last episode convinced Ted Hastings (played by Adrian Dunbar) was in fact “H”.

Much of the evidence was pointed towards him, and viewers were quickly becoming angry that they had been lied to for so long.

This episode didn’t help Ted’s case, as he ventured into the night club where the organised crime gang were situated.

And after being captured by the crime gang, Ted was then arrested for his involvement in the case.

But as he was interrogated by the other members of the police force, it started to look like Ted was being set up.

Lots of the evidence was a little circumstantial, and poor Ted was left yelling: “No! I’m being framed!” as he was eventually taken off to a jail cell.

Although Kate (Vicky McClure) and Steve (Martin Compston) were originally rooting to catch Ted as H, something didn’t sit quite right for the duo.

Fans of the show were convinced Ted was being set up, and began saying as much on Twitter.

One impassioned fan wrote: “No, I don’t believe it!! He’s being framed #fella #LineofDuty #whoisH.”

Another said: “#LineOfDuty Mother of God, Ted has been framed.”

While a third exclaimed: “Anybody else waiting on Jeremy Beadle popping up on Line of Duty? Hastings you’ve been framed! #LineOfDuty #youvebeenframed.”

Many other viewers ran to Hastings’ defence, with another saying: “Convinced now that H is not Hastings, poor man is being framed #LineOfDuty.”

And one more adding: “Nah I’m sorry. Hastings is not a bent copper, he’s being framed! #cookingongas #LineOfDuty.”

Despite all of this, he was eventually imprisoned, and fans of the show will have to wait until next week to find out who H really is.

Earlier this week Peter Bleksley, a former Undercover Detective, spoke to Eamonn Holmes on ITV’s This Morning about the show.

During the interview Eamonn said: “Who is H? Who do you think H is? Do you have a guess?”

To which Peter said: “Is it a person or a place?

“Cast your mind back to the flats where people were being held, do you remember one was Flat B?”

So could H really be a place where criminal works out of rather than a singular person?

Line of Duty concludes to BBC One Sunday at 9pm.
