Life after death: Woman's chilling account of seeing 'the void' in near-death experience


“It was just like I knew what it was and that it was linked to physically dying. Thus, why I felt I should not be there.”

Although the experience sounds profound, many medical experts would argue it was a perfectly natural response to the harrowing incident.

NDE studies show people on the verge of dying often have intense visions of an afterlife, their deceased loved ones or recall flying through a tunnel or dark void.

According to Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, these visions are often accompanied by positive feelings rather than panic.

He said: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.
