Liam Payne tweets ‘I am the real Liam Payne’ 10 years after original post – and yes it’s been a decade since One Direction formed

Liam Payne is celebrating a decade in showbiz in the most 2020 way – by creating a meme-tweet parody of a 10-year-old tweet.

Let us explain.

On 22 June 2010, the year he found fame on The X Factor, the One Direction star tweeted: ‘I am the real Liam Payne.’

(Keep in mind, the first episode of X Factor SE7 aired on 21 August 2010. And little did pre-fame Liam know that said tweet would eventually amass 298k likes.)

Indeed, that tweet’s now finding fresh engagement, as today – exactly 10 years later – dad-of-one Liam has posted the exact same thing again.

And that new tweet has already amassed 240k likes.

Another day, another way in which the internet is weirdly entertaining.

His work anniversary is certainly worth celebrating.

After auditioning for The X Factor all those years ago, Liam went on to form One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.

And it was arguably the most iconic series in the ITV show’s history, with the likes of Cher Lloyd, Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson and more.

It also featured, as judges, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole… with the latter going on to welcome a son, Bear, with Liam.

And Bear, by the way, is already three. Where do the years go!?
