Liam Hemsworth has filed for divorce from wife Miley Cyrus, 11 days after the couple announced their separation after just seven months of marriage.
The 29-year-old Hunger Games star cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ in paperwork filed on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The couple had a prenup so their individual earnings during the marriage will remain separate and there is no request for spousal support.
As the duo don’t have children together the divorce should be finalized fairly swiftly.

A source told TMZ that Liam just wants to move on and is ‘over the marriage’.
Liam is being represented by celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser who did not state a date of separation on the petition, simply putting ‘TBD’.
One day before confirming the split on August 10, Miley, 26, was photographed kissing Brody Jenner’s ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter during a girls trip to Italy.
Days later there were accusations of infidelity and out of control partying coming from both sides amid speculation the couple had separated months ago.
Days after news of the split made headlines sources close to Miley told TMZ the songstress tried ‘valiantly’ to save the marriage but couldn’t accept Liam’s ‘drinking a lot’ and ‘using certain drugs’.

The divorce petition, filed by Liam’s attorney Laura Wasser on Wednesday, states the date of marriage as December 23 2018 and the date of separation is ‘TBD’

Miley released a song last week titled Slide Away where she appears to address relationship issues with Liam and sings of his fondness of whisky and pills.
Sources on Liam’s side strongly denied Miley’s accusations and say the real issue was the former Disney star’s infidelity.

The actor’s pals say the Wrecking Ball singer is using the drug and alcohol accusations to distract from the real cause of the split.

Another source denied Miley was ever unfaithful to Liam, telling Page Six: ‘She never hooked up with girls while she was married. It wasn’t a part of the relationship.
In recent days however there were reports that Miley was open to trying to make her marriage work – but it appears to be too little too late.
It comes after The Sun claimed that Liam’s family was begging him to ‘cut off all contact’ with the Can’t Be Tamed singer.
