Theirs is the most legendary sibling rivalry of all time, and it doesn’t show any sign of ending anytime soon.
Throwing another spanner in the works, Liam Gallagher made a sly dig against brother Noel Gallagher this week, weighing in on his feud with singer Lewis Capaldi.
Appearing on BBC Radio 1’s Chillest Show, the 46-year-old said that Noel “deserves what he’s getting” in the spat, which started back in June.
It all kicked off when Noel called the Scottish singer an “idiot” during a discussion about chart-topping artists of 2019.
When the Someone You Loved hitmaker fired back by poking fun at their age difference, Noel then insulted him by hitting out at Lewis’s native Scotland.
Speaking to Variety, he said: “It is like a third world country, but for f***‘s sake, man.”
On top of that, the Oasis legend compared the 22-year-old to Chewbacca – the famously hairy character from Star Wars.
Not taking the cruel comparison to heart, Lewis later appeared onstage at TRNSMT festival wearing a Wookiee mask.
Singer Paolo Nutini later bought the tongue-in-cheek mask for £10,000, with plans to raffle it off for charity.
Watching from the sidelines, Liam said: “Listen, he wouldn’t mess with me, this Lewis Cap-whatever he’s called because I’m vicious but Zen at the same time.
“I met him (Capaldi) and he was cool and I’m glad he’s sticking it to our kid because our kid started it.”
Ever since their high-profile falling out back in 2009, the Mancunian brothers have been known to make sly digs against each other from time to time.
Unfortunately, with Liam backing Lewis in this public spat, don’t hold your breath if you’re hoping for a reunion.
