Liam Gallagher says brother Noel ‘deserves what he gets’ in feud with Lewis Capaldi

Liam Gallagher has said his brother Noel “deserves what he’s getting” in his feud with Lewis Capaldi.

The drama between the former Oasis star and Capaldi has been escalating over the recent weeks, after Noel branded him “Chewbacca” and said that he should “enjoy his 15 minutes” in the spotlight, before branding Scotland a “third world country.”

The Scottish singer-songwriter then hid behind a Star Wars mask for a creative dig at the Mancunian star during his TRNSMT set earlier this month.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Chillest Show with Phil Taggart, Liam said Noel was “getting beaten in a lot of arenas these days”, including in his feud with Capaldi, and that he “deserves’ the public row

Liam – who has been involved in a bitter row with his brother since Oasis split up in 2009 – added: “Listen, he wouldn’t mess with me, this Lewis Cap-whatever he’s called because I’m vicious but Zen at the same time.

“I met him [Capaldi] and he was cool and I’m glad he’s sticking it to our kid because our kid started it.”

Their apparent feud comes after Gallagher said in a radio interview that Capaldi was an example of how bad pop music has got these days.

The singer then responded on Twitter: “Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true.

“It’s Father’s Day, I’m being slagged off by a man who is old enough to be my Da’ and I’ve never been more happy. Happy Father’s Day Noel.”

Capaldi then wore a t-shirt with Gallagher’s face on under an Oasis-inspired parka and bucket hat at Glastonbury, which only annoyed the rocker even more.

The Gallagher brother replied: “F****** Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes. The greatest day of his life that I slagged him off or called him an idiot.

“It’s the greatest day of his f****** life so far. He’s just thinking, “Wow!” Well, I know you’re Scottish and all that, but f****** hell!

“It is like a third world country, but for f**** sake, man, you must have had a better day than this. Surely!’

Capaldi then changed his name to Chewis Capaldi on Twitter and made his icon a Photoshopped photo of him as the Star Wars character before arriving on stage earlier this month in the mask.
