Lewis Capaldi walks on Glastonbury stage to video of Noel Gallagher slagging him off

Lewis Capaldi has had the last laugh walking on stage at Glastonbury Festival 2019 while a video of Noel Gallagher, his musical idol, asking ‘who is this Capaldi fella?’ played in the background.

Lewis famously shared a video of him being mocked by Noel as he bemoaned the state of the charts.

The former Oasis musician took aim at Lewis, who was enjoying his fourth week at the top of the album charts with his debut record Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.

The former Oasis star said: ‘Music is f***ing w**k at the moment. Who is this Capaldi fella? Who the f***’s that idiot?’

But in return, Lewis owned the moment and walked on to the stage for a Saturday afternoon performance in front of tens of thousands of fans with the video playing in the background, all while dressed in a classic Gallagher outfit.

Then as he whipped off the bucket hat and parka, he sported a white T-shirt with a red heart and Noel’s face emblazoned on it.

It all kicked off in mid-June when Lewis saw the video and took to Instagram to share the humiliation.

‘F***ing come on! F***ing peaked. Slagged off by Noel Gallagher. F***ing come on. Slagged off by Noel Gallagher, what a day,’ he laughed.

‘Number one single, who gives a f***. Number one album, who gives a f***. Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. Dreams coming true.’

He continued: ‘It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my dad, and I’ve never been more happy.

‘I f***ing love Noel Gallagher and he’s just slagged me off. What a day this is. In fact, I’m getting my hair cut.’

Lewis proceeded to Google Noel’s best haircut, as well as parkas and bucket hats to complete his tribute look.

Talk about turning a negative into a positive.
