Lewis Capaldi set to play Edinburgh Summer Sessions in first headline show

Scot-of-the-moment Lewis Capaldi will play his first headline show at this year’s Edinburgh Summer Sessions.

The 22-year-old from Bathgate beat superstar DJ Calvin Harris last Friday to the No1 UK single with Someone You Loved. He’s currently in a battle to retain the top spot on Friday.

Today it was announced Lewis will headline the Princes Street Gardens gig on August 14.

Other headlines across the eight date Edinburgh Summer Sessions gigs include Florence + the Machine on August 7&8, Primal Scream on August 10, Chvrches on August 11, James on August 15, Courteeners on August 16 and Madness on August 18.

Lewis said: “Well, well, well. Look who’s playing a big f*** off outdoor show in Edinburgh this summer, ya big lovely b*stards.”

The gigs will be at the Ross Bandstand below Edinburgh Castle and during the Edinburgh International Festival.

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 9am from www.smmrsessions.com .
