Lewis Capaldi cancels fans' Q&A after losing his voice – but Scots gigs going ahead

Lewis Capaldi has been forced to cancel his Q&A with fans after losing his voice – however his Scottish shows will still go ahead.

The Bathgate singer has pulled out of a scheduled half-hour Q&A at Glasgow’s SEC before his shows at the city’s O2 Academy this Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8.

Fans who bought tickets by pre-ordering his album will be refunded.

The Someone You Loved singer was last week forced to cancel a string of shows in Norwich, Nottingham and Sheffield after losing his voice mid-show at Brixton’s O2 Academy on Friday (November 29.)

However, the 23-year-old has insisted his gigs in both Glasgow and Edinburgh over the weekend will go ahead as planned.

On a video shared to Instagram, Lewis said: “I’m very sorry I have to do this. Last week I completely lost my voice on stage and I was advised by four doctors to take voice rest and cancel those shows.

“I saw a doctor this morning a couple of hours ago and she told me it’s looking much better, but she advised me not to do the Q&As as it would put more strain on my voice for shows we’ll be doing this week. These shows are my paramount concern.

“I’m so, so sorry to anyone who ordered tickets, you will be refunded. I have to make this decision to make sure the shows are as good as they can be and cause any more damage than is necessary.”
