Lewis Capaldi added to TRNSMT line-up as Snow Patrol pull-out on 'medical reasons'


Lewis Capaldi has been added to the TRNSMT line-up – after Snow Patrol were forced to withdraw.

Organisers of the Glasgow Green made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon to mixed opinion from fans.

They revealed that Snow Patrol , who were meant to be performing on the main stage on Sunday, July 14 due to “medical reasons”.

Someone You Loved star Capaldi, who has rose to remarkable fame in recent weeks, has been added to the bill instead.

 

Posting on Twitter they wrote: “Sadly, due to medical reasons, Snow Patrol are unable to perform at TRNSMT 2019 on Sunday 14th July.

“We send our best wishes to the band!

“Scottish Superstar Lewis Capaldi will now join the festival bill.”

Snow Patrol revealed it was because one of their members requires surgery for neck pain.

They wrote on Twitter: “Our dear brother Johnny McDaid has been experiencing neck pain & requires surgery.

“Along with Nathan, we need to give our brothers time to heal & recover and are sorry to announce the cancellation of European shows. We hope you understand”.

Music fans seem both gutted to see Snow Patrol having to pull out of the gig, but many overjoyed with the addition of Capaldi.
