Lewis Burton has been spotted out and about in London dressed to the nines as he prepares to spend New Year without Caroline Flack.
The model and professional tennis player, 27, looked deep in thought as he spoke on his mobile phone by his car, as he prepared to see in the new decade 5,000 miles (and an eight-hour time difference) away from Caroline.
Lewis was seen looking smart in dark jeans, Chelsea boots and a turtleneck jumper as he headed to his car while making a call.
It comes after Caroline reportedly flew to Los Angeles to get away from the drama following her arrest for assault by beating.
The former Love Island presenter, 40, who is being replaced by Laura Whitmore for the upcoming first winter edition of the show, reportedly flew out to America where she is unlikely to get recognised.
As part of her bail conditions, Caroline has been ordered not to see Lewis, despite him insisting he isn’t pressing charges over the incident.
He posted an Instagram story of Caroline, telling his followers: ‘Gutted I can’t spend Christmas with you. I want to repeat I never pressed charges and asked the other day for the bail conditions to be dropped but no1 listened to me. I want this all to be over.’
Caroline had been seen arriving at London’s Heathrow Airport on Sunday, as she wheeled a large case and carried her holdall ahead of her flight.
She attempted to avoid being recognised with a large Burberry scarf around her neck, which she pulled up over the bottom half of her face, and dark sunglasses.
According to The Sun, Caroline has booked the trip away to have some time to herself and to go on long hikes while ITV bosses kick off winter Love Island on 12 January.
A source told the paper: ‘Caroline feels trapped in the UK. She can’t see or communicate with Lewis but she also doesn’t want to return to her flat because her every move is documented by photographers.
‘She’s driving herself mad, as she likes to be busy… she’s jetted to LA. Whenever she’s hit hard times, she’s always “found herself” again in the mountains, away from the limelight.
‘She wants to feel the sunshine on her skin, do long hikes and clear her head.’
