Former Arsenal player Jeremie Aliadiere has blasted the club’s decision to let Aaron Ramsey join Juventus at the end of the season.

Ramsey’s contract with the Gunners comes to an end this summer and he has signed a deal with the Serie A champions.

The Wales international will leave the Emirates on a free and Aliadiere has described the situation as ‘criminal’ for his former club.

‘It pains me every time I get to the Emirates and I see lately how well he is performing, knowing he won’t be there next season,’ Aliadiere told talkSPORT.

‘Having such a talent – and he is a team player – he will work for the team, he will do anything for the team before himself.

‘He will see the benefit of the team.

‘And just losing a player like this on a free, for me, is criminal.

‘Arsenal has become a club which doesn’t attract too many top players because you just don’t really know what direction they are going in.’

The 28-year-old has made 25 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals, including one in the north London derby earlier this month.

He leaves Arsenal for the Turin giants, with whom he has signed a contract worth a whopping £400,000-a-week.

Wales legend Ian Rush claimed that the motivation behind Ramsey’s exit was not money but the desire to win trophies.

‘Why Juve? I spoke to him a couple weeks ago, he’s always been convinced of this choice because he wants to win trophies and Juve has always been the first choice for this,’ Rush said in February.

‘He believes that they have more chances to win than other teams.’
