Camila Morrone has hit back at the haters that slammed her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio, after fans criticised their age gap.
The 22-year old model has been dating 44-year-old Leo since January 2018, and last night posted two pictures on her Instagram of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart.
Lauren and Humphrey also had a 25-year age gap between them, and Camila captioned the photo: ‘a love like this’, alluding to her own 22-year age gap with the Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood actor.
Unfortunately, some trolls invaded her comments, criticising the nature of their relationship, claiming Leonardo only wanted her for her body, and Camila was only interested in his money.
She took to her Instagram stories to put the trolls firmly back in their place, telling her followers: ‘Good morning, people, and happy Friday.
‘I just read some of the comments on my Instagram and my God, people are so mean and, like, full of anger with people that they know nothing about.’
‘I guess I just hope on this Friday that people learn to live with a little less hatred and place their time and interests elsewhere because living without hatred feels pretty good.’
Camila and Leo have been together since around January 2018, when they were first spotted together on a trip to Aspen, Colorado.
Similar to Leo and Camila, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall attracted criticism for their relationship, but spent 13 years together, marrying and having two children before Humphrey’s death from esophageal cancer.
A source close to Leo and Camila recently told People that the couple are the real deal despite the age gap between them.
The source claims: ‘They seem pretty serious. It’s definitely not a casual relationship. Camila spends a lot of time at his house.
‘Camila is long known as Leo’s girlfriend. And Leo introduced her to both of his parents long ago.’
We’re sure these two are too busy living their lives to let the trolls affect their relationship… at the end of the day age is just a number.
