Lena Headey: Game of Thrones' Cersei Lannister unleashes rant on Instagram 'F*** off!'

Lena Headey, 45, regularly voices her opinion on political matters and climate change on her Instagram.

And the Game of Thrones star appeared fed up with being criticised on her own account and uploaded a video where she told people to “unfollow her” if they were offended by what she posted.

At the beginning of the clip, Lena joked about her make-up free skin and said: “Hi instaworld it’s me, look, without make-up aah! S**t everyone panic.”

She went on: “I just want to say, when I post my views, I don’t see myself as being highly political, I just see myself as a human being.”

Lena became impassioned as she ranted: “I care about the climate, I care about my children and their future, I care about my friends and their children and their future, I care about the crisis going on all over the world, the humanitarian crisis.

“I give a f*** and if that offends you or you think actors have no place in the world to have an opinion… f*** off and unfollow me and I shall not weep.”

Many of Lena’s 1.9 million Instagram followers loved her statement with one person commenting: “You queen of all things YES!”

Another supported: “Keep posting whatever you want, as you said, if people don’t like it, then they can unfollow you. I think your Fantastic.”

A third said: “Brilliant. We shall not weep for them either. Thanks for caring about the world. Hugs.”

Lena will be returning to play Cersei Lannister in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, which airs next month.

Ahead of the season premiere, Lena appeared on This Morning where she spoke about filming her final scenes as the strong-willed and cunning Queen.

The actress discussed what it was like finishing the show where she admitted she was feeling relieved.

She spilled: “It’s a bit more relaxing and I don’t have to wear that wig… Joy!”

The British star also admitted she couldn’t resist telling her family about her character’s storylines when she would receive scripts for the show.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, she said: “I mean when we got the scripts, you would just flip straight through to the end and say ‘yes, I’m still alive, I’m still employed’, but now it’s over. It’s done.”

Meanwhile, Sophie Turner, who stars as Kit’s on-screen sister, Sansa Stark, recently opened about bidding farewell to the red-headed character.

In an interview with British Vogue, the actress admitted it felt like she had to grieve for Sansa.

She spilled about the last day of filming: “I couldn’t control myself I cried for hours and hours once it wrapped.

“It was like leaving behind a character that I’ve grown up with. It’s almost like a death.”

Game of Thrones season 8 returns April 14 on HBO in the US, and the next day on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
