Lena Dunham is directing a new series and it sounds epic

If you’re having Lena Dunham withdrawal symptoms, we have some news you’re going to love. Dunham is going to be back on HBO in a VERY different kind of project.

The network announced on Friday that the Girls star will executive produce and direct a new series about rich kids which isn’t likely to air until next year. And guess what? It’s set in Wales.

The new series is called Industry, and according to US site Deadline, it’s based on a bunch of twenty-something boys trying to break into the money-making world of the City.

Deadline wrote: “The show is set in the cutthroat world of international finance as seen through the eyes of ambitious twenty-somethings struggling to secure their futures. It follows a group of young graduates competing for a limited set of permanent positions at a top investment bank in London—but the boundaries between colleague, friend, lover, and enemy soon blur as they immerse themselves in a company culture defined as much by sex, drugs, and ego as it is by deals and dividends. As members of the group rise and fall, they must decide whether life is about more than the bottom line.”

The new TV series is set to be eight episodes long and shooting is reportedly taking place this summer in Wales, with Dunham directing the pilot and Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, the British duo behind dark comedy Gregor, said to be behind the writing.

Anyone in Wales this summer? Keep your eyes peeled.
