Leicester vs Liverpool result: Player ratings as Jurgen Klopp’s side extend Premier League lead

Liverpool thrashed a lacklustre Leicester 4-0 to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 13 points.

Roberto Firmino carried over his fine form at the Club World Cup to head Liverpool into the lead after 31 minutes as Jurgen Klopp’s side dominated the first half.

Brendan Rodgers’ side did briefly gain momentum as they searched for an equaliser in the second half, however, Caglar Soyuncu’s handball then gifted a penalty to Liverpool, which James Milner duly tucked away.

Within the space of the next seven minutes, Firmino added his second before Trent Alexander-Arnold drilled a low shot into the far corner to cap another brilliant display by the runaway leaders.
