LEICESTER are in a race against time to complete a deal for Youri Tielemans as the Premier League’s top clubs begin to circle.
The midfielder has been one of the Foxes‘ best players this season during his loan spell from Monaco.
His form has not gone unnoticed and Leicester want to get a deal completed quickly in fear that he will soon become out of their price range.
Sky Sports claim that the 22-year-old is open to a permanent switch to the King Power having been impressed with boss Brendan Rodgers.
But Monaco are fully aware that they could have a bidding war on their hands if they hold off agreeing a deal with Leicester.
The Foxes do have an advantage in that their midfielder Adrien Silva is currently on loan at Monaco and could be used as part of the deal.
When quizzed on his future, Tielemans claimed he is expecting to return to the Ligue 1 club for now.
He told Belgian publication VTMNieuws: “I expect that I will return to Monaco in the summer, unless something’s moving.
“At the moment there’s nothing. If things are going well you want to keep it like that. I don’t know what Monaco will be asking, so I can’t talk about it.”
Manchester United are keen to make their move as they plot a major summer overhaul.
They are also looking for a replacement for Ander Herrera following his departure from the club.
Spurs are also keen and following two transfer windows without spending a penny, Mauricio Pochettino will be given the opportunity open the cheque book this summer.
