The LEGO Group and Blizzard Entertainment 
partnered with Twitch this week for a special Twitch Rivals streaming competition focused on Overwatch , with prizes going to children’s charities.
The Twitch Rivals LEGO Overwatch Workshop Showdown was held yesterday, with teams of streamers from North America and Europe battling it out in the first-person shooter. The winning team from each region had LEGO toy kits donated to their charity of choice. Ultimately, French charity CéKeDuBonheur and Indian charity Toybank each won 100 LEGO kits.
Blizzard and The LEGO Group are currently partners for a series of LEGO Overwatch toys, which feature characters, vehicles, and locations from the game. The Twitch Rivals set was dressed up in LEGO branding for the event, plus the stream featured a cartoonish digital LEGO recreation of the set featuring host Caleb “WavePunk” Simmons and life-sized LEGO Overwatch toys.

“We’re always exploring new ways to thrill and engage our fans and we’re delighted to be part of this first-of-its-kind Twitch Rivals tournament,” said The LEGO Group senior marketing manager Sten Funder Lysdahl, in a release. “Together with Blizzard, Twitch, and Initiative, who have played a key role in setting this up, we hope to explore a new approach to connecting with our amazing LEGO and Overwatch fans alike.”
Initiative is The LEGO Group’s global media agency. Twitch Rivals is the streaming platform’s competition series, which spans numerous games for one-off broadcasts. The series has held competitions for games such as Apex Legends , League of Legends’ Teamfight Tactics mode, and Magic: The Gathering Arena , and also hosted a live $100K USD Rainbow Six Siege Celebrity Showdown at E3 2019 in June.
