Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has been banned for eight games and fined £60,000 after being found guilty of racially abusing Charlton Athletic striker Jonathan Leko.
The Spaniard was initially charged on November 4 after the FA was made aware of his abuse towards Leko during Leeds’ clash with Charlton in September.
The FA has confirmed that the full details of the disciplinary hearing will be released next week, which will include what Casilla is alleged to have said to Leko.
Leeds’ first-choice goalkeeper has also been ordered by the FA to undergo ‘face to face’ education.
Casilla will miss Saturday’s game against Hull City, as well as matches against Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Fulham, Luton Town, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City and Swansea City.
A statement from Leeds read: ‘We would like to make it clear that we do not tolerate any form of discrimination within our football club and we are a leader in the fight against discrimination within our wider community.
‘However, it is important to recognise that Kiko has always denied making any racist comment.
‘The FA panel have based their decision on the balance of probability rather than proving Kiko to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt, which we have always believed is the more appropriate burden of proof.’
