Lee Grant and Diogo have both been impressed with Harry Maguire’s ‘seamless’ transition into Manchester United’s starting XI following his summer move from Leicester.

Maguire became the most expensive defender in history when he arrived at Old Trafford for a fee of £80million earlier this month and the 26-year-old got off to the perfect start as United thumped Chelsea 4-0 in their Premier League opener.

The Englishman was a rock at the back as United recorded their first clean sheet since February and was named man of the match for an outstanding display against Frank Lampard’s side.

United went on to draw away to Wolves before losing at home to Crystal Palace, but the performances of Maguire have been a real positive for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

‘It’s been seamless,’ Grant said when asked about Maguire’s start by United’s official website.

‘Harry has definitely slotted straight in, in terms of the social side and in terms of his mentality and attitude, which has been first class.

‘The most important thing, though, is his quality and he was able to show that against Chelsea.

‘We could all see he is quite at home in front of the Old Trafford crowd and quite at home as a Manchester United player.’

Dalot claims Maguire has ‘settled in perfectly’ and proved he’s ready to play for a club of United’s stature.

‘He’s so calm,’ the United full-back said.

‘He’s settled in perfectly. He’s a very nice guy, very humble, very quick to settle.

‘We’ll keep helping him, but I think he’s already shown everyone on the pitch that he’s ready for this club.’

Maguire is expected to continue alongside Victor Lindelof in central defence when United travel to Southampton this weekend.
