BCA’s and LCS’ ‘First Blood Saves’ campaign commences on March 5th. The reason the campaign is asking for community members that have recovered from COVID-19 to donate CCP is due to its antibodies which can be used to combat the virus. Fans will be able to donate in any of BCA’s 60 plus independent community blood centers across the United States.

According to the press release, those that choose to donate by signing up through a dedicated website will receive skins for K/DA and Kai’Sa champions.

This isn’t the first time BCA has entered into the esports industry. In June 2019, the not-for-profit organisation entered a partnership with Team Liquid which saw branded donation trucks travel across North America to enable fans to donate blood. Those that did donate received a limited-edition t-shirt.

BCA becomes the latest addition to the LCS’ roster of partners, joining the likes of food delivery service Grubhub, insurance and financial giant State Farm, and gaming chair brand Secretlab.

As per the release, more information surrounding the First Bloods Save Lives campaign will be revealed in upcoming LCS broadcasts and across social media.

Esports Insider says: As one of the most-watched esports leagues in North America and the world, the LCS joining forces with Blood Centers of America is a great initiative to encourage people to help in the ongoing battle with COVID-19.
