LCS and FACEIT to Bring Back Scouting Grounds Circuit for 2020

North America’s League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) and competitive gaming platform FACEIT will bring back the Scouting Grounds Circuit (SGC) for a second season. The SGC is a collection of partner-held tournaments from May to July, which will award qualification points and feature a total prize pool of $60K USD.

The eight teams with the most points will compete in a playoffs event in August. The last two days of this event will be broadcasted live from the FACEIT studio in Los Angeles, pending any adjustment to California’s stay-at-home order related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The top two teams from the Playoffs will then compete in the 2020 Honda Scouting Grounds, a showcase tournament organized by the LCS, which includes a player draft. The SGC as a whole is a key talent scouting program for North American League of Legends, with the Honda MVP of the Spring Split, Robert “Blaber” Huang, having been first recruited to Cloud9 through the 2017 draft.
