Law firm names two directors among raft of five appointments

Glasgow-based law firm Macdonald Henderson has announced a raft of new appointments including two directors.

Michael Hankinson has been promoted to director in the commercial dispute team, having amassed wide-ranging litigation experience.

Fraser Morrison becomes commercial director and in-house legal counsel of The HALO Urban Regeneration Company – the project planned for the site of the former Johnnie Walker bottling plant in Kilmarnock.

Hilary Malone joins the firm from Brodies as a solicitor in the corporate team, having advised clients on private equity investments and corporate governance, and served a year’s secondment to Scottish Enterprise.

Colm Kerr has been promoted to solicitor, also in the corporate team. He has been praised for his work on complicated demergers and restructures of sizeable SME businesses.

Anne Marie Aitken joins the firm as a conveyancing paralegal in the private client team. She has almost 30 years’ experience as a key member of a busy property team.

Managing Director David Beveridge said: “We are proud to welcome Hilary and Annemarie to the firm, as well as recognise the excellence of our existing team in the promotions of Michael and Colm.

“The appointment of Fraser to the board of the Halo is a first for Macdonald Henderson, and cements our firm’s partnership with this leading development project.

“I’d further highlight the promotion of Michael to director with the firm, reflecting his terrific contribution to the growth in reputation and strength of our firm’s commercial dispute team, alongside Alan McKee.”
