Law firm appoints new partner as it faces increased demands from the pandemic

A private client lawyer has joined legal firm Lindsays as a partner.

Caroline Fraser joins the private client team at the firm’s Dundee office from Miller Hendry, where she worked for 14 years.

Fraser, who lives in Broughty Ferry and is a graduate of the University of Dundee, works across the full spectrum of private client matters, from Wills and Powers of Attorney to issues surrounding care and inheritance tax.

She says she was attracted to the firm by its reputation – including that of head of the Private Client team, Grant Johnson – in her field at a time when there has been a sharp focus on its importance in peoples’ lives.

Caroline Fraser, new Partner in the Private Client team at Lindsays, said: “I have for a long time known of Grant and his expertise in this field and know how committed the entire team at Lindsays are to my area of the law – and the difference it makes for people – so this feels like an ideal move for me, a natural fit.

“One of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic has been to highlight the real need for all of us to be prepared for every eventuality in life and to ensure that our affairs are in order, including with Wills, Powers of Attorney and life planning generally for the benefit of ourselves and our families.

“Everyone’s circumstances are different and it’s only with considered professional advice that the most appropriate arrangements can be put in place. I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping people do this.”

Fraser’s arrival comes at a time of growth for Lindsays in Dundee, following the arrival of David Rose as a partner in its Commercial Property team and Darren Leahy’s promotion to partner in the same department.

Alasdair Cummings, managing partner at Lindsays, said: “Caroline’s appointment is yet another example of our aim here at Lindsays to attract the finest legal talent to work with us.

“We know that with her experience, enthusiasm and strong reputation, particularly in Tayside, that Caroline will be a fantastic addition for the firm and our clients, further strengthening our growing team based in Dundee.”
