Laurence Fox, 41, who was previously married to actress and singer Billie Piper, 37, has revealed he refuses to date women under 35 because of their politically correct views. He recently admitted he ended a relationship early last year after a few months when his girlfriend expressed some “woke” opinions.
The actor who is best known for his role as Sergeant Hathaway in ITV’s Lewis, said he has learnt to not date women under 35 because they consider themselves “very oppressed by men” and believed “that the world is a terrible place”.
Speaking on the Delingpod podcast, presented by the writer James Delingpole, Laurence explained: “I don’t know how we ended up together. It was a very short relationship.
“We were walking down the road and she was talking about how good the Gillette advert was. I just looked at her and went, ‘Bye. Sorry, I can’t do this with you.”
The Gillette advert in question showed images of bullying, sexual harassment, sexist behaviour and aggressive behaviour as it targeted “toxic masculinity”.

The actor claimed she was being “primed” to play a “victim” as he added: “But she’s been primed. This is the problem. Priming women to believe that they are victims and that this is tyrannical patriarchy.
“It’s not like they’ve got a solution to that. They just want to swap it to be a matriarchy. They want exactly the same thing but for women to be in charge.”
Asked what his type is, the actor expressed his preference for “people who have lived a real life”.
He added: “The cut-off for me is about 34. If you go under 35 they are absolutely bonkers.”
Laurence commented: “Women who take personal responsibility for things rather than try to solve all the ailments of the world. I’m not into victimising yourself.
“I don’t like people who blame a lack of success on their identity – they’d have been more successful as a male, for example.”
Laurence was married to Billie piper for eight years until their divorce in 2016 and the couple share children two together – Winston, 11, and Eugene, seven.
His comments comes as the actor took aim at Lily Allen following his heated debate on BBC’s Question Time on Thursday evening.
Laurence, who also plays Lord Palmerston in ITV’s Victoria, spoke out in view of his 113,000 Twitter followers seemingly appearing to mock the outspoken singer.
He shared two screen grabs of a lengthy message, which were posted in what appeared to be the early hours, seemingly from the hitmaker, 34.

They read: “Sick to death of luvvies like a Lawrence Fox going on TV and forcing their opinions on everybody else, when he’ll never have to deal with what normal people have to deal with in his gated community.
“BBC should be ashamed, this is not what we pay our TV licences for.”(sic)
The uploads added: “Stick to acting mate. Instead of ranting about things you know anything about.”
It is unclear where the comments were originally posted and who was behind them, but Laurence went on to blast Lily as he shared it with his fans.
He wrote: “Lily Allen is the most stunningist and bravery artist in the whole wide world. #stunningandbrave.”
Stunning and brave was a title of a 2015 episode of satirical cartoon South Park, and parodied political correctness within society.
The tweet has since received over 18,000 likes from social media users.
He has ended a number of tweets the same hashtag, in what is thought to be a cynical nod at so-called political correctness.
