Lauren Harries has vowed to quit the public eye and social media following an appearance on Naked Attraction where she was deemed ‘too old’.

The 41-year-old recently stripped off for the Channel 4 series, in which hopeful singletons see their potential dates naked before their face is unveiled, but was turned down by suitor Rigby after he claimed that the reality star was ‘too old’ for him and that he wanted someone younger.

‘I am looking for someone to be with permanently and I just think you might be a little bit too old for me,’ Rigby said to her.

However, Lauren did not take too kindly to this, telling him to ‘stay away’.

‘No stay away,’ she said. ‘You could have had the goods but you are not having them now. You’re not going to get my backside now.

‘I’m going, I don’t want to be around him. Never talk to a woman about age, make up something.’

Lauren has now revealed in an interview with the Daily Star’s Hot TV column that she is now ‘retiring from public life’ as she ‘cannot take all the negativity’.

She said: ‘I am retiring from public life and leaving social media. I won’t be on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. I am giving it all up.

‘It’s because I cannot take all the negativity towards me. After Naked Attraction there was loads.’

She added that she was used to receiving ‘cruel comments’ after posting videos of her singing and dancing to social media, and she has since questioned why she bothers to put up with it.

‘I am now thinking: “Why am I putting these videos out for people hiding behind their computers to come out and abuse me?” I am just giving them an excuse to write horrible things about me.’

‘It has to stop now. Naked Attraction is really like my swansong,’ she added while admitting she wants to ‘bow out of public life’ as the late Princess Diana did.

Lauren first shot to fame as a 10-year-old with a fascination for antiques and appeared on various television series such as Wogan and After Dark.

She has since appeared on many reality series, including Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, in which she came third.

As well as reality TV, she has also dabbled with music, releasing the single I Am a Woman in 2015, with a follow up single, Updaoo, being released in 2018.
