Lauren Harries spills The Jeremy Kyle Show secrets as she says host 'couldn't handle her'

Lauren Harries has revealed all the secrets behind her The Jeremy Kyle Show episode, which saw her locked in a war of words with Lisa Appleton during a dramatic showdown.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, the 41-year-old claimed that it got so heated between herself and Lisa that Jeremy had to cut the interview short because he “couldn’t handle them”.

The pair appeared on the show together in 2018 after a holiday to Spain erupted into a bitter feud.

While on the show, Lisa accused Lauren of stealing her sausages, Lauren accused Lisa of eating all her avocados and Lisa accused Lauren of “trying to get with married men on the dance floor” and dubbed her a “man w***e”.

Talking about what really went down, Lauren says Lisa made up the story about her trying to “steal husbands” to “make the show more interesting” and also claims a lot of what was said was, “for effect”.

Lauren said: “I don’t take husbands off wives. I am not a husband w***e. I would say Lisa made things up to make me sound worse and for effect, to make the show more interesting.”

The pair fired back insults at one another and Lauren claims it “got so heated” that host Jeremy “ended the interview early because he couldn’t handle us”.

She said: “The interview was also cut short as Jeremy couldn’t handle us. It was just too much for him.”

Lauren spilled that the rumours of security having to pull her and Lisa apart is a “lie”.

Lauren added: “The security having to pull us apart is a lie, that was just made up. We were never pulled away.”

The child star, who rose to fame for her knowledge of antiques on After Dark and Wogan, also claimed that she didn’t meet Jeremy until they were on the stage in front of the live audience.

She said: “He doesn’t see you before the show, not once. You first meet him on the stage in front of the live audience.”

Lauren says they were ‘hyped up’ before the cameras started rolling

Lauren also claims that before her and Lisa went on the show they were “hyped up” and told to make it “bigger than it is”.

“They try and make you really really really hyped up before you go on.

“They did it for me, they said to me, ‘You’ve got problems with Lisa, make sure you make it big and make it bigger than it is’, of course, I was still myself,” Lauren claimed.

The Jeremy Kyle Show was axed for good last May after guest Steve Dymond died from an overdose, 10 days after he failed a lie detector test on the show, which he reportedly underwent to try and prove he didn’t cheat on his partner.

The Jeremy Kyle Show helped the public get to grips with real-life issues, ranging from indiscretions and infidelities to fetishes and flirting, in a show that brought real-life issues and dilemmas for Jeremy to deal with

Following his death, ITV made the call to axe the show immediately after it had run for 14 years and published 3,320 episodes.

However, today it has been revealed that Jeremy is returning to the public eye but it has not been made clear if his ITV show will be going back on air.

Jeremy’s manager, Claire Powell, confirmed the news over social media, saying the TV presenter “will be back soon to have his say”.

Her statement read: “So pleased to welcome the very talented and very real… Jeremy Kyle exclusively to The Can Group. For 14 years, Jeremy Kyle dominated Daytime TV with his hugely successful eponymous talk show.

“And after a year spent battling the unimaginable consequences of a devastating tragedy, Jeremy Kyle will be back soon to have his say: WATCH THIS SPACE!”

Daily Star Online has contacted an ITV spokesman for comment.
