Lauren Goodger risks driving ban as she films herself while driving

Lauren Goodger has risked a driving ban as she filmed herself behind the wheel of her car while driving.

The former TOWIE star, 33, took to Instagram on Friday to share two videos in the front seat of her car.

In the short first clip, Lauren posed and pouted for the camera while singing to music, with her arm outstretched on what appeared to be the steering wheel.

Lauren flitted between staring at the road and the camera as she posed and pouted before mouthing the words from the song.

A second video showed the star wearing sunglasses and once more filming herself singing.

In this clip, the reflection of her hands on her steering wheel could be seen in her sunglasses, confirming she was filming while driving along a road.

Using a mobile phone while driving is against the law in the UK, and is punishable by six penalty points on a licence and a £200 fine.

Lauren’s representative declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.

Last week Lauren suffered more vehicle drama as she returned from a trip to the salon to discover her £43,000 Mercedes had been clamped.

The star was spotted returning to her matte black Mercedes Coupe SUV to see it had been hit with a warning notice, but later clarified on Instagram it was an error and the clamp had since been been removed.

Onlookers said that the agent went into the salon to inform Lauren her car had been clamped, and she sent a pal to remove the notice.

Eventually it was clarified that the clamping was a mistake, and it was removed so Lauren could drive home, with the star confirming the mix-up on Instagram.

A representative for the star told MailOnline: ‘Lauren’s car was clamped in error yesterday and after speaking to an enforcement agent he happily removed the clamp and explained to the three paparazzi waiting for her it was in error.’

Taking to Instagram Stories Laura also wrote: ‘Only I could get me car mistaken for someone else’s and be clamped!!!! Happy Friday…

‘To the person always remember to pay your fines.’

Lauren’s car drama came after she was rushed to hospital last month with a mystery illness, after first sharing the news she was suffering with a horrendous hangover.

Taking to Instagram, Lauren wrote that she ‘felt like she was dying,’ before uploading a selfie with wires attached to her chest while she was ferried away in the back on an ambulance.

Penalties for using your phone while driving

It’s estimated that 660,000 drivers are using an electronic device while driving at any given time during the day.

That prevalence is where a lot of the danger lies. With so many people on the road using highly distracting devices, the potential for accidents—and thus injuries and fatalities—is incredibly high.

There can be lethal consequences or the chance of injuring someone are the biggest risk factors with texting and driving, but there are other risks as well.

You can get 6 penalty points and a £200 fine if you use a hand-held phone when driving.

Newly qualified drivers could be made to retake their driving test the first time they are caught.

Alongside the image, she penned: ‘Under a lot of stress lately, had paramedics at mine now on way to hospital.. really not good way lately… I need a break’ [sic]…’

She is yet to provide a full explanation but the star took to Instagram shortly after her hospital stay to share a cryptic quote that read: ‘The mind and body are not separate, what affects one, affects the other.’

Since her recent health scare, Lauren said she was planning to quit drinking and focus on getting in shape for 2020, but she enjoyed her ‘first drop of alcohol’ following a photo shoot on Friday.

Posting to her story earlier that evening, the reality star said that she and a friend were enjoying a glass of champagne, writing: ‘Haven’t had a drop of drink since Christmas Day… I’m looking at it like hmmm but maybe it’s deserved. #justtheone.’

Lauren shared a number of photos of herself and a friend relaxing with a glass of champagne in the hotel lounge to her story before retiring to her room to take the revealing pics.

Spending the night at the hotel the star insisted in another Instagram story of her sipping a shot shared by her friend that she was ‘not the girl you think I am’.

She re-posted the video to her story with the caption: ‘Not the girl you think I am! I cannot drink [sick emoji]. Back on the table it goes.’
