Host Caroline tragically died on Saturday, February 15 at the age of 40 and emotional host Laura announced that the final would be dedicated to her this evening.

The Islanders were told of the awful news yesterday by ITV bosses, who had previously decided to keep it from them.

They were told off-air and the footage will never be screened.

As the final episode kicked off fans took to social media to praise Laura for getting through such a difficult moment, live on TV, and looking incredible while doing so.
