Laura Whitmore reflects on whirlwind decade as she prepares to host Love Island

Laura Whitmore has reflected on the last decade and admitted she feels “I’m blagging it” as she prepares to host Love Island in a few weeks.

She’s getting ready for the biggest TV presenting gig of her life and will takeover Caroline Flack as dating show host.

As she reflected on the last decade, Laura shared a sweet comparison post which showed herself at the start of her career to where she is now.

Laura, 34, admitted she feels “overwhelmed at times” and like she’s “completely blagging it” when it comes to her “roller coaster” career in TV.

The new Love Island host joked she still loves to wear a “band tee” and that the biggest change in her life is the improved quality of her mobile phone.

The presenter gushed: “2009 V 2019 the scariest thing about these two pictures is I feel the exact same.

“Still curious, still feeling overwhelmed at times – that I’m completely blagging it and that it’s all a big rollercoaster.

“I still love a band tee but thankfully those denim skirts have long gone! Back in 2009 I was just starting out in MTV and had moved by myself to a new country.

“I still like the idea of pushing myself and trying new things – and I can tell you that ain’t going to change in the next decade,” she continued.

“And despite all the madness of the last decade, all achievements and failures, ups and downs I’m still that girl that is excited by life ❤️

“One major thing that HAS changed in the last 10 years though … the camera quality of my mobile phone.”

Caroline was charged with assault after an alleged row with her boyfriend Lewis Burton led to her arrest.

In the wake of the allegations, the presenter stepped down from her telly duties on winter Love Island which will begin on January 12.
