Laura Whitmore has got frank about her finances, admitting she doesn’t know how much money she made in the last year.
The Love Island presenter, who also hosts a radio show on Radio 5 Live, couldn’t put an estimate on her income.
Laura explained that she takes her salary from her limited company Yer Wan – in reference to being called ‘yer wan off the telly’ when she goes to her home town of Dublin.
The 34-year-old joked that her parents are up to speed on her salary because she usually appears in an Irish paper that ‘prints what high-income earners have made.’
In an interview with The Times, Laura said: ‘I like a bargain. If I want to splash out, I can rent a luxury dress especially if I’m only planning on wearing it once.
‘I often realise that I don’t like it as much as I thought I would and I’m glad I didn’t buy it.
‘To be honest, I don’t actually know (how much she earned last year). Money goes into my limited company and I pay myself from there.
‘But my mum and dad seem to know as every year a paper in Ireland prints what high-income earners have made.’
Laura added that she was ‘extremely lucky’ to be able to buy herself a flat in Camden when she was 26, and that doing so gave her ‘a bit of security’.
She bought her latest property in north London last year, and currently lives with boyfriend Iain Stirling, best known for narrating Love Island.
It has been rumoured that the couple got engaged while they were in South Africa for the winter edition of the dating show.
While neither of them have confirmed the rumours, The Times referred to Iain as her ‘fiance’.
