Latin Grammys 2019: Here are the night's biggest winners


Spanish singer Rosalía was one of the biggest winners at the 2019 Latin Grammys, winning three awards Thursday night, including Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Pop Vocal album.

“As a musician, nothing gives more pride than winning a Grammy. It is the biggest thing that can happen,” Rosalía said in Spanish, becoming the first solo female performer to win the top honor since Shakira’s triumph 13 years ago, according to the Associated Press.

The Latin Grammys aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin hosted the award show with actresses Roselyn Sanchez and Paz Vega led the way as the Latin Grammys honored a diverse group of music artists hailing primarily from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the U.S. 

The Latin Grammys are voted on by the Latin Recording Academy, and top categories include album, song and record of the year, as well as best new artist.

General

—Record of the year: “Mi Persona Favorita”, Alejandro Sanz witb Camila Cabello

—Album of the year: “El Mal Querer”, Rosalía.

—Song of the year: “Calma”, Pedro Capó, Gabriel Edgar González Pérez and George Noriega.

—Best new artist: Nella.

Pop

—Best contemporary pop vocal album: “El Mal Querer,” Rosalía.

—Best traditional pop vocal album: “Agustin”, Fonseca.

—Best pop song: “Mi Persona Favorita,” Camila Cabello and Alejandro Sanz

Urban

—Best urban fusion/performance: “Calma (Remix)”, Pedro Capó and Farruko.

—Best urban music album: “X 100PRE”, Bad Bunny.

—Best urban song: “Con Altura”, J Balvin, Mariachi Budda, Frank Dukes, El Guincho, Teo Halm, Alejandro Ramirez and Rosalía.

Rock

—Best rock album: “Monte Sagrado”, Draco Rosa.

—Best pop/rock album: “Cargar La Suerte”, Andrés Calamaro.

—Best rock song : “Verdades Afiladas”, Andrés Calamaro and German Wiedeme.

Alternative

—Best alternative music album: “Norma”, Mon Laferte.

—Best salsa album: “Mas De Mi”, Tony Succar.
