Popular coastal resorts around Britain are reporting full occupancy at hotels, campsites and holiday homes – with prices for the remaining spots going through the roof.

According to the Mail Online, the top 20 campsites in Cornwall recommended by campsites.co.uk are full until the end of August.

Some, such as Trethem Mill Touring Park in Truro, have no availability until October.

Plans for thousands of trips abroad have been left in tatters following the Spanish travel ban, with families also cancelling holidays to France, Italy and Greece due to similar fears.

As a result, even more people are wanting a last minute break in the UK, meaning availability is scarce compared to usual at this time of year.

But there are still some deals to be had if you know where to look.

Holiday parks like Haven, Park Holidays and Pontins still have availability in their seaside resorts for as last minute as this weekend – when temperatures are expected to reach 34 degrees.

These types of self-catering holidays have seen a surge in popularity over the last few months as holidaymakers seek out Covid-safe accommodation.

Alternatively book a holiday cottage in the countryside with a hot tub, or a hotel stay with live entertainment.
