Lynch’s role has been a secretive topic but sources close to the production have now claimed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s rewrite of the script will see the 31-year-old introduced to audiences as the new 007.
Fans of the franchise will know that the spy, currently portrayed by Daniel Craig, retired at the end of Spectre and will be living a fancy life in Jamaica as Bond 25 opens.
An insider has claimed that at the start of the film Bond will return to MI6 and will be introduced to 007 – only for Lynch’s character to walk in to the room.
“It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman,” a source told the Daily Mail.
This already seems like a significant movie moment, but while we wait to see how true that will be, here’s everything you need to know about the star in the meantime.
