Lamar Odom admittedly subjected Khloe Kardashian to many things during their four-year marriage, but he most regrets not thanking his ex-wife for ‘wiping his a*s’ while he lay in a coma.
The former NBA star was hospitalised in 2015 after overdosing at a brothel in Las Vegas.
It came two years after he and Khloe, 34, had split but the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was still by his bedside while he recovered in hospital.
Describing Khloe as his ‘Armenian angel’, Lamar recalls how his former wife was supportive despite their break-up and shares his one regret about that time.
Speaking to Hollyscoop’s Diana Madison, Lamar said: ‘I never had the opportunity to tell her how thankful I was for wiping my ass…
‘After I came out of the coma, I never had the opportunity. Especially where I was at that stage of my life, it was hard for me to express any kind of empathy, I messed up. Hopefully I can make it up.’
Once he woke from the coma, Khloe continued to care for Lamar, 39, and he famously made his return to the public eye by her side at Kanye West’s fashion show at Madison Square Garden in February 2016.
But taking the opportunity to show his gratitude now, Lamar added: ‘Thank you Khloe for everything you did to me, hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to show you face to face.’
Lamar has just released his new memoir, Darkness To Light, which includes many shocking accounts of his short-lived marriage to Khloe and drug addiction.
The former LA Lakers player recalls how he once threatened to ‘kill’ Khloe in the midst of a drug-binge, while also claiming she ‘beat the s**t out of’ a stripper who was involved in an orgy with Lamar.
Khloe has since moved on from her marriage to Lamar, and is now mother to one-year-old daughter True whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
