Kym Marsh talks up her daughter's acting debut as she battles back to full health

Proud Kym Marsh has revealed daughter Polly is already following in her acting footsteps.

The Coronation Street star, 42, has announced the eight-year-old has a part alongside mum in Elf: The Musical.

Kym has quit the cobbles after 13 years playing troubled Michelle Connor on the ITV soap.

Now she has told OK! magazine that there will be plenty of mother-daughter time to come.

“Later this year Polly will be making her acting debut when she comes
on tour with me for Elf: The Musical,” the delighted mum beamed.

“I’m going to be some travelling around the country with the theatre tour and I don’t want to be away from Polly.

“I got told there was a small part for her playing one of the children, so it’s worked out perfectly! She’s been going to her dad’s acting school and she’s loved every second of it.”

Kym has opened up about being rushed to hospital during a terrifying health ordeal that left her bed ridden ‘for days’.

The star says she still doesn’t know the reason for her illness – but gave details of her ordeal.

Writing in her column, she said: “I felt so awful I had to go to the Alexandra Hospital in Manchester. I was shaking, I felt terrible and like I’d been hit by a truck.

“They ran lots of tests on me and I’m still waiting for the results. Doctors think it could be Salmonella poisoning, which is really serious.

Polly has certainly grown up in the past few years

“The ordeal has been terrifying and I’ve never felt so ill! I was bed-ridden for four days.

“The whole family rallied around me, David and Emilie had to get Polly up and ready for school because I couldn’t get out of bed,” she revealed.

Kym revealed in February she wants to try something new having been on the show since 2006.

Soap boss Iain MacLeod was reportedly desperate to keep her, with Executive Producer John Whiston saying that they were “very sad” to see her leave.
