Kylie breaks down on Glastonbury stage 14 years after cancer battle

Taking to the iconic Glastonbury Pyramid stage at Worthy Farm, Kylie played some of her biggest hits as the crowd basked in the sun.

Fighting back tears, the All The Lovers songstress said: “In 2005 I was meant to be on this very stage.

“Circumstances meant that I didn’t make it. I was watching back home in Australia.”

The starlet continued: “Life is what it is. We are all here in this moment. It has dawned on me.

“I realised not only that story [of me battling cancer] but our story. We’ve had 30 plus years together.”

Wiping back tears, the pint-sized chart topper added: “Wow I didn’t cry too much that’s good.

“Back then when I was watching Glastonbury some of the artists covered one of my songs and that is the sprit and the gracious nature of Glastonbury.

“So I asked one of those artists of he would join me Chris Martin.” As the crowd cheered the Coldplay front man joined her band.

This year, Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure headline the festival.

For those who were unable to secure tickets, for the first time ever the official EE Glastonbury app will link up to BBC iPlayer and Apple Music to allow those at home to watch and listen to artists all over the weekend.

Marketing Communications Director at BT and EE Pete Jeavons, said: “Our new and improved EE Glastonbury app allows festival-goers to drop pins on the festival map, listen to artists playing at Glastonbury to discover new music to help build their perfect festival line-up, and create and share their own personalised set lists so they can make sure they don’t miss a beat.”
