YouTuber Deji has admitted to being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control after his German Shepherd, Tank, bit an elderly woman outside his house.

The 22-year-old appeared at Cambridge Crown Court following his mother Olayinka’s hearing, which saw her also pleading guilty to the dangerous dog charges.

Prosecutor Charles Falk reportedly told the court that the elderly woman was bitten twice, suffering ‘very nasty injuries.’

Deji is said to have come out of the house, attempting to get Tank under control.

Both Deji and his mother will be sentenced on 25 October.

Sharing a snap of himself and his girlfriend Dounja to Instagram, the star later said: ‘Very productive day! If you know, you know.’

Back in January, the YouTube star, who has a following of more than nine million, alleged that the police had ‘stolen his dog’, with his brother KSI sharing a petition to help get him back.

He asked his viewers for advice and urged them to help out in a video, saying ‘It’s been six months and nothing has happened, we haven’t been charged or anything, and I’m really starting to think that they are trying to steal my dog.’

He added: ‘[Tank] probably feels like he’s just been let go by us.’

The vlogger recalled that the dog has been through training and told his fans ‘I’m suing. I’m suing someone’ before saying: ‘This is doing my head in, I want my dog back…I know you want to steal my dog.’

At the time, a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘On 23 July [2018] we were contacted with reports that a dog had attacked two people. ‘Officers attended the scene and the dog was seized while the matter was investigated.

‘Olayinka Olatunji, 52, and Deji Olatunji, 22 were each charged with two counts of owning a dog that was dangerously out of control. One count with injury and one without.

‘They have been released on bail and a court date has not yet been set.’

Deji went on to comment to Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s a shame that we’ve not received any correspondence from Cambridgeshire Police that we’ve been charged.

‘However, it’s a step in the right direction.  This will give us the opportunity to plead our innocence and have closure.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Deji for comment.
